  • Foods to Delay Skin Aging
  • The main symptoms of skin aging include skin roughness, lack of luster, the appearance of wrinkles on the surface of skin, and so on. With the increasing of age, the normal functions and activities of skin epidermal cells, sebaceous glands and sweat glands will gradually decline. Because of the reduction of sebaceous glands and sweat glands, the subcutaneous fat layer will be gradually oxidated and become thinner, which will make the skin become dry and lack of luster.

The population who are most likely to suffer from skin aging include those with chronic liver and kidney diseases, as well as those suffering from malnutrition, anemia, chronic fatigue and insomnia, and so on.

In order to delay skin aging, in addition to paying attention to the maintenance of skin, we must also pay attention to our daily diet. That is to say, we should choose to eat more foods which can slow down the aging of our skin. Then, what kinds of food have such an effect?

First, high-protein foods, such as lean meat, egg, fish, milk, soy products and so on. Protein is one of the essential nutrients needed by the human body. Regular intake of protein can promote the growth of subcutaneous muscle and make it plump and elastic. As a result, it is very effective to prevent skin relaxation and slow down the aging process.

Second, foods rich in macromolecular colloidal protein, such as pig trotters, pig skin, and so on. The macromolecular colloidal protein contained in foods can make the skin cells become soft and moist.

Third, vitamin E-rich foods, such as sesame oil, wheat germ oil, peanut oil, lettuce leaves, butter, cod liver, and so on. The vitamin E contained in these foods can prevent the oxidation of subcutaneous fat, and enhance the vitality of the tissue cells, so as to make the skin smooth and elastic. What's more, vitamin C (ascorbic acid) also has an anti-aging effect.

Fourth, foods which contain a large number of minerals, such as some green leafy vegetables like radish, tomato, cabbage, celery, as well as some fresh fruits like apple, orange, watermelon and date. The minerals contained in these foods can enhance the elasticity, flexibility and luster of the skin. As a result, it is very effective in the prevention of the roughness and dryness of the skin.

In a word, the above mentioned foods have great effect of delaying skin aging. As a result, we should try to eat more of these foods in our daily diets.
