  • When one is hungry, he is not choosy about the food. He would grab any food around him. However, it is not wise to do so as some foods are not suitable to eat when the stomach is empty. Otherwise, there may be some damages. 

    First, persimmon: it contains much pectin and tannic acid which react with the gastric acid and generate gels. As a result, the stomach stone may occur.

    Second, cold drinks: they irritate the stomach and intestine. As a result, various enzymatic reactions go wrong and cause some diseases. Women also can have period disorders.

    Third, banana: as it contains rich magnesium which can break down the balance of magnesium and calcium of human bodies when the stomach is empty. As a result, cardiovascular disease may occur.

    Fourth, hawthorn: a large amount of organic acid, tartaric acid, maslinic acid and citric acid in it can cause the increase of gastric acid. As a result, the stomach is filled with gases and acerbity water.

    Fifth, milk: plenty of proteins in it can be consumed as heat, much less nutritive. The right way is to eat some desserts first. Or one can drink it two hours after meals or before sleep.

    Sixth, sugar: it is very digestible. Human bodies can not secret enough insulin to keep the normal level of blood sugar in a short time when sugar comes into the empty stomach. And thus, eyes diseases may occur. What’s more, sugar is an acidic food that would break the acid-base balance.

    Seventh, yoghourt: it loses much nutrition. The right way is to drink it two hours after meals or before sleep. In this way, it helps digestion.

    Eighth, sweet potato: tannic acid and pectin cause more secretion of gastric acid and as a result, people feel very uncomfortable.

    Ninth, tomato: it has similar results as the persimmon if people eat it when the stomach is empty.

    Tenth, orange: as the hawthorn, the stomach can be filled with gases and acerbity water.

    Eleventh, soya-bean milk: it has similar results as milk if people drink it when the stomach is empty.

    Twelfth, garlic: allicin contained in the garlic irritates the stomach lining and the intestinal wall. As a result, gastrospasm may occur.

    And thus, even if you are very hungry, you’d better look before you leap. Keep in mind that not all food is suitable to eat when the stomach is empty. You’d better eat desserts or other foods made of flour. Otherwise, you may suffer from gastrointestinal disorders.
