Li[CH(PPh₂)₂] reacts with SnCl₂ or PbCl₂ in tetrahydrofuran to yield the homoleptic complexes Sn-[CH(PPh₂)₂]₂ or Pb[CH(PPh₂)₂]₂. X-ray crystallographic studies reveal similar structures with a monomeric, pyramidal MCP₂ core and two distinctly different bis(diphenylphosphino)methanide ligands.
