A series of linear 1,3-bis(triorganostannoxy)siloxanes (R'3SnO)R2SiOSiR2(OSnR'3) (R=Me, Ph; R'=Ph, n-Bu, c-C6H11) has been synthesised, and the compounds characterised by NMR (1H, 13C, 29Si and 119Sn) and Moessbauer spectroscopies.The structure of the homoleptic compound R=R'=Ph has been determined by an X-ray diffraction study.
