From the weakly acid fraction of the hexane extract from Artemisia campestris subsp. glutinosa, five new aromatics have been isolated.They have been identified as o-hydroxyphenylbutan-2-one, 3-acetyl-4-hydroxyacetophenone, 3-(isopent-2-enyl)-4-hydroxyacetophenone, 3-<4-hydroxyisopent-2(Z)-enyl>-4-hydroxyacetophenone, 3-<4-hydroxyisopent-2(E)-enyl>-5-(isopent-2-enyl)-4-hydroxyacetophenone and 3-<4-hydroxyisopent-2(Z)-enyl>-5-<4-hydroxyisopent-2(E)-enyl>-4-hydroxyacetophenone.The structures have been assigned by spectral data and chemical transformations.Key Word Index - Artemisia campestris; Compositae; aromatics; (1)H NMR; stereochemistry.
