The kinetics of the reaction of CF3CFHO2 radicals with NO was studied by flash photolysis-time-resolved mass spectrometry.From the kinetic growth rate of NO2+ molecular ions the rate coefficient of the reaction CF3CFHO2 + NO --> CF3CFHO + NO2 was determined to be k = (1.31+/-0.30)x10-11 cm3 molecule-1 s-1 in the pressure range 12-25 Torr at 324 +/- 1 K.Measurements of the total NO2 yield indicated that CF3CFHO radicals were completely dissociated by C-C bond scission on the 50 ms time scale of the experiments.The results are discussed in the context of atmospheric chemistry of HFC-134a.
