A new and convergent synthesis of the leukotriene D₄ antagonist Ro24-5913 (9) has been developed that can serve both for technical production and combinatorial structure optimization. The synthesis of 6, achieved in 90% yield, is described. The conversion of 6 to 9 has been disclosed previously.
