In summary, we design and synthesize a new nonfullerene
acceptor (DF-PCIC) in an easy-synthesis protocol. Through
the utilization of F H noncovalent interaction, nearly planar
…
molecular geometry can be constructed for DF-PCIC without
involving complicated ring-fusing reactions to IDT or IDTT
units. Thus, DF-PCIC possesses similar absorption bands and
energy levels as ITIC. After proper optimizations, OSCs with
PBDB-T as the donor and DF-PCIC as the acceptor provide the
best PCE of 10.14%. Furthermore, due to the unique D core of
DF-PCIC built via noncovalent interactions, both PBDB-T:DF-
PCIC blended films and PBDB-T:DF-PCIC-based devices can
show excellent morphological and device stability, even being
tortured at 180 °C for 12 h, which beat those of PC71BM or
ITIC-based counterparts. In a word, good photovoltaic perfor-
mance and excellent device stability are achieved for DF-PCIC.
Such molecular design strategy would help obtain new non-
fullerene acceptors practically applied in OSCs.
