  • General Description 1,1,2,2-Tetrafluoroethane (TFEA) exists in two rotameric forms, anti and gauche, with the anti rotamer being more abundant in the gas phase and dominant in the crystalline phase. Vibrational spectroscopy studies, including Raman and infrared spectra, have enabled the assignment of fundamental frequencies for the anti rotamer across normal, 13C2, and d2 isotopomers, supported by isotope product rules. Assignments for the gauche rotamer remain incomplete, though estimates for missing frequencies in the normal species have been proposed. The anti rotamer's stability and prevalence are confirmed across different phases.
