, p. 942 - 943 (2007/10/03)
Hydrazones from hydrazines bearing electron withdrawing groups, and aromatic or aliphatic aldehydes form and hydrolyse rapidly in water at neutral pH.
Characterization and Toxicity of Organotin(IV) Halide Complexes of Cyclohexanone Spirothiazolidinone and 3-Aminorhodanine

Complexes of organotin(IV) halides with cyclohexanone spirothiazolidinone (I) and 3-aminorhodanine (II) of the types R3SnL and R2SnL2 ( R = methyl, butyl, phenyl and L = I or II) have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of their elemental analyses and IR spectra. The complexes are non-electrolytes in nitromethane or nitrobenzene. Both di- and triorganotin(IV) complexes of cyclohexanone spirothizolidinone are tetrahedral while those of 3-aminorhodanine are trigonal-bipyramidal or octahedral. The toxic effects of the ligands and the complexes on fish (Heteropneustes fossilis) and cockroach (Periplaneta americana) have been studied. The triorganotin(IV) complexes of (I) and (II) are more toxic than those of diorganotin(IV).
