  As shown in Fig. 1, each Cd(II) center is coordinated by six oxygen atoms from four different carboxylate groups of CTC  and one nitrogen atom from terminal HPDA molecule, and each CTC ligand coordinates to four cadmium ions through its three carboxylate groups in the unidentate, chelating bidentate and chelating/bridging bidentate coordination fashions, respectively.
