Amino acid salts

Amino acid salts are chemical compounds formed when amino acids, which are organic molecules containing both an amino group (-NH2) and a carboxyl group (-COOH), react with acids or bases to form salts. These salts are typically formed by neutralizing the acidic or basic properties of amino acids, resulting in a compound where the amino acid molecule is ionically bonded to a counterion (such as a metal ion or an organic ion). Amino acid salts are commonly used in pharmaceuticals, food additives, and biochemical research due to their solubility and stability in aqueous solutions. In pharmaceuticals, they may be used to improve the solubility and bioavailability of drugs, enhance drug delivery systems, or act as buffering agents. In food additives, amino acid salts are utilized as flavor enhancers or nutritional supplements.
