    First of all, do not eat spicy foods.
    During the dysmenorrhea period, if women eat a lot of spicy foods, it will lead to the hyperemia of pelvic cavity and inflammation, or cause over-contraction of uterine muscle, which may aggravate the condition of dysmenorrhea. Spicy foods include chili, pepper, garlic, onion, ginger, leek, tobacco, alcohol and some spicy condiments. Dysmenorrhea patients should try to eat less or completely give up these foods.

    Secondly, do eat cold foods.
    If women eat too much cold foods during the menstruation, it may lead to dysmenorrhea. Cold foods will easily cause damage on the spleen and stomach, and may lead to the hyperemia of pelvic cavity and inflammation, thus aggravating the condition of dysmenorrhea. As a result, women should keep away from cold foods if they suffer from dysmenorrhea. Such kind of foods include all kinds of cold drinks, frozen drinks, iced wine, cold dishes, and some cold-natured fruits such as pear, persimmon, watermelon, so on.

    Thirdly, do not eat acidic foods.
    Acidic foods taste sour and are cold in nature. They have an astringent effect, which can cause vasoconstriction and blood stagnation. In such a case, the menstrual blood can not be discharged out of the body smoothly, which may make the condition of dysmenorrhea much worse. Acidic foods include vinegar, pickles, pomegranate, plum, strawberry, jujube, mango, apricot, lemon and so on.

    After the above introduction, we have known the dietary taboos for women during the dysmenorrhea period. Then what kinds of food are beneficial for those dysmenorrhea patients. Medical experts have pointed out that, if women suffer from dysmenorrhea, they should eat more foods which contain a large number of vitamin E. Vitamin E, also known as tocopherols, has the effect of maintaining the normal function of reproductive organs and the metabolism of muscles. Foods rich in vitamin E include wheat germ, egg yolk, beans, nuts, green leafy vegetables, sesame oil, and so on.

    What's more, some warm-natured foods can also relieve the symptom of dysmenorrhea. Such foods include brown sugar, red dates, lychee, long an, chestnut, and so on. As a result, women can eat more of these foods during the dysmenorrhea period.
