  • Foods That Are Not Suitable for People Suffering From Indigestion
  • For people who suffer from indigestion, they should pay special attention to their daily diets. There are some foods they should keep away from, and these foods are mainly as follows:

First, foods containing too much protein and calcium
Foods such as dairy, lean meat, fish, egg yolk, beans, kelp and seaweed all contain a lot of protein or calcium. Excessive intake of these foods will make the stool become alkaline and dry, which will be difficult to discharge. So people suffering from indigestion should eat less of these foods.

Second, foods which are indigestible and easy to cause flatulence
Dry beans, onion, potato, sweet potato and sweet foods should be properly controlled, in case they will affect the operation of the stomach and aggravate the symptoms.

    Third, greasy foods
Greasy foods are much more difficult to digest, and they would aggravate the disease after eating. So people who suffer from indigestion should keep away from the greasy foods.

    Fourth, sticky rice
Sticky rice contains a large amount of dextrin, and it has strong stickiness and lower expansibility, so it is difficult to digest. If the people who suffer from dyspepsia eat sticky rice for a long term, it will aggravate the disease.

    Fifth, corn
Corn protein contains much less amino acids than other grains and beans. And it lacks of lysine, tryptophan and threonine, which are all the essential amino acids to human body. What's more, the niacin contained in corn can not be absorbed by human body. Eating too much corn will result in the deficiency of these nutrients, causing malnutrition.

    Sixth, sweet potato
People who suffer from indigestion or abdominal fullness and distention should keep away from sweet potato. As it may cause aerogenesis and stomach bloat, which will make the disease much more severe.

    Seventh, white gourd
White gourd is cold in nature. Eating too much of it will bring harm to the stomach, and weaken the function of the digestive system, thereby leading to the loss of appetite, abdominal distension, diarrhea and other symptoms.

    Eighth, dried bean curd
Dried bean curd is made after all the moisture has been drained in the bean curd. It is difficult to digest. As a result, children and the elderly people should not eat too much of it, otherwise, it may easily lead to indigestion.

Beside the above foods, there are also other foods which are not suitable for people who suffer from indigestion, such as alcohol, pigeon meat, crab and so on.
