• Associated context:

  This result led us to try the reaction of 2-alkynylbenzaldehydes with acetic acid (CAS 64-19-7) to produce indenols (such as 2a') in a similar way (Scheme 2). Surprisingly, the reaction did not give the product 2a' but rather dihydroisobenzofuran (2a) was isolated (Scheme 2).
