Fluoro-benzoic acid series

The fluoro-benzoic acid series refers to a group of benzoic acid derivatives in which one or more hydrogen atoms on the benzene ring are substituted with fluorine atoms. These compounds, such as 2-fluorobenzoic acid, 3-fluorobenzoic acid, and 4-fluorobenzoic acid, are characterized by the presence of a carboxyl group (-COOH) attached to a benzene ring that also contains one or more fluorine substituents. The introduction of fluorine atoms can significantly alter the physical, chemical, and biological properties of these compounds, making them useful in various applications, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and materials science. The fluoro-benzoic acids are often used as intermediates in organic synthesis, as building blocks for more complex molecules, and in studies exploring structure-activity relationships in drug design.
