- Some Notices for Artificial Feeding for Baby
-
Because of insufficient breast milk or other special circumstances, some mothers can not feed their babies by breast milk. So they have to adopt the methods of mixed feeding or artificial feeding, that is, using milk powder or fresh milk to feed baby.
Many parents choose to feed their babies by milk powder. There are many kinds of milk powder on the market which are specifically made for baby. These milk powders have been added with all kinds of nutrients needed for the growth and development of the baby, so they are more suitable for the baby than the ordinary milk powder. What's more, milk powder is made from fresh milk which has been heated and concentrated. During this process, the casein particles become smaller, and the volatile fatty is reduced, so it is more digestible and absorbable than fresh milk.
If you choose to feed your baby by milk powder, then you should learn how to make the milk properly. It is a very important matter, which should be paid great attention to. Too much milk powder will make the milk too thick, which may easily cause indigestion or diarrhea of the baby. But if the milk is too thin, it can't provide the baby with enough nutrition and calories. With time going on, it will cause malnutrition, affecting the growth and development of the baby. As a result, you have to know the scientific methods of making milk from milk powder.
If you choose fresh milk to feed baby, there are also some notices you should pay attention to. At the beginning, you should add some water to dilute the fresh milk, and gradually reduce the amount of water later. Some babies may easily suffer from eczema when drinking milk. In such a case, you can boil the milk up for a few times, and then remove the skin on the boiled milk. This method is also very helpful to the babies who suffer from indigestion or diarrhea.
What's more, it is not appropriate to use condensed milk to feed baby. Although the protein and fat in condensed milk are relatively more digestible, however, the vitamin B and C in it are greatly destroyed. As a result, it can't meet the essential needs of the baby, so it should not be used as a staple food for the baby. Babies who are fed by condensed milk for a long time tend to have relatively poor resistance, or suffer from muscle weakness.
