  • Title:

Proposed effect of NaOH (CAS 1310-73-2) in the catalytic site of Rh-catalyzed hydrogenation of ketones in water under hydrogen pressure

New water-soluble diamine complexes as catalysts for the hydrogenation of ketones under hydrogen pressure

  • Mark:

    Scheme 3

  • Associated context:

Based on the commonly accepted mechanism together with observations made in the literature, the main role of the added base might be to deprotonate the intermediate A, obtained by insertion of the ketone into one of the Rh-H bonds, while water could protonate the alkoxide ligand (Scheme 3).
