Azoic dyes

Azoic dyes, also known as azo dyes or coupling dyes, are synthetic organic compounds characterized by the presence of one or more azo (-N=N-) functional groups (-N=N-) linking aromatic rings. These dyes are widely used in textile dyeing due to their vibrant colors and ease of application. Azoic dyes are typically insoluble in water and require a complex dyeing process involving a coupling reaction with a diazo component to form the final colored product directly on the fabric substrate. This coupling reaction often occurs under acidic conditions, resulting in the formation of a highly stable and colorful azo dye molecule attached to the fabric fibers. Azoic dyes offer a broad spectrum of colors, ranging from reds, oranges, and yellows to blues, greens, and violets, making them versatile for various textile applications.
